Downtown Kids Window Art -

WE BROUGHT IT BACK AGAIN THIS YEAR!

Last year the Prairie Chicken Festival Committee added something new. We invited Kewanee area schools to submit artwork from their students to be displayed in the windows of downtown merchants during the week of the festival. K-12 students were invited to enter. Each student was permitted to enter one item.

A total of 408 pieces of art were collected from participating schools!!!

The goal of this project was to have some great artwork displayed downtown for all to see, to encourage and celebrate our young artists, and to supply one school with additional art supplies at a time when funding is challenging. The response was amazing!

  • Each child is allowed to enter one piece of art
  • Their school name is put in the drawing for that piece.
  • The drawing will be done at the Chalk Art Competition sight on Saturday, July 14th around 4p.m.
  • The artwork will be returned to each of the school's art department after the festival weekend.
